DO YOU BUY FURNITURE LOCALLY?

More often than not our warehouse is brimming with European vintage furniture. However, occasionally we will buy local pieces or items we have sold previously. We do not provide valuations or make offers, but If you are wishing to sell an item please email us with images, any details or history ( if known ) the location of the item/s, and the price you are happy to sell for. Again, we do not make offers or valuations.

We stock a range of handy timber care products to maintain existing finishes or refresh a vintage piece. Our Howards products are available in store or visit the Howards website for a range of online care tutorials and timber care products.

      RESTORATION FAQ

DO YOU RESTORE OTHER PEOPLES FURNITURE?

Our workshop in Brunswick has three to four staff at any time focused on timber restoration, sanding and polishing, electrical work and manufacturing. Our workshop's restoration capability is limited to our own items but we can definitely pass along a few names of professional restorers ready to quote on your work!

      DO YOU REUPHOLSTER FURNITURE?

Our workshop upholstery capabilities are limited to small jobs, mainly dining chairs and seat rests. For larger items such as sofas, loose cushions and throw pillows we outsource work to several different local upholsterers. If you look up an upholsterer in your neighbourhood several names should pop up online. Best to email a professional upholstery company with images and measurements for a labour quote and required fabric meterage.

      REPAIRS

If you have purchased a vintage item from us we are happy to undertake small running repairs. Items needing repair that have been damaged can be repaired / restored for labour charge of $100 per hour. In the case of more comprehensive & time-consuming restorations, we would be able to refer you to a local restorer.

DO YOU REWIRE OTHER PEOPLES LAMPS?

Our in-house electrical work is generally limited to our own stock. But if you do have a repair query, drop us a line and we would be happy to recommend a few Melbourne-based lamp restorers. Occasionally we may even be able to squeeze in a small job ourselves !
